hdtMEDIA Fashioned the Content Marketing China Summit and AOY Award Ceremony

Content Marketing China Summit organized by Campaign raised its curtain in Shanghai on December 8th. Prominent advertising and media figures in greater China region gathered together to share their ideas about content marketing. Malcolm Thorp, vice president of hdtMEDIA, was invited to moderate the interactive panel session which was joined by AdMaster vice president and Shanghai GM Chen Le, Millward Brown greater China president Deepender Rana, and AVD Digital Media CEO Andrew Ballen. The discussion was a spark of wisdom under the topic of ¡°data-driven content¡±.

Malcolm first invited panel members to explain their understanding about content marketing. According to them, content carriers great weight as the value transmitter targeting customers. The core of content marketing lies in data due to the fact that quality data enable the effective combination of good content with premium media. Either for customers or brands, content marketing is of great significance and value.

To cite Malcolm, the success or failure of content marketing is up to subjective judgment. The question is: what are the criteria of a successful content marketing campaign? According to Rana, the top priority is to get information and feedback from the customers, the same way as brands need to fully appreciate their customers¡¯ need before they set the KPI. For example, the feedback may include whether there is any change in people¡¯s attitude, understanding or comments toward the brands before and after the content marketing campaigns.

The same night witnessed the grand opening of Greater China AOY award ceremony (AOY is short for Agency of the Year) where glitzy lights flew around a galaxy of celebrity advertisers from greater China.
